called my surgeon about some pain I was having and he sent in orders for me to have an ultra sound tomorrow to check out my gallbladder. Can anyone who has had issues with theres tell me some of the symptoms they expirenced?

I had pain in my upper right abdomen, which then spread across to my left side as well. I also had nausea after eating anything, and pain in my back, too.  Gallbladders do fail sometimes with rapid weight loss. It's good that he is being responsive; an ultrasound will show if you have gallstones or if your pain is something else.

I fight badgers with spoons.

mine were just like the previous poster. Pain....lots and lots of pain! It would wake me up at night. Glad to hear your Dr is checking it out.
As strange as it sounds, when it hits drink 100% apple juice if you can. I read that online and it worked for me. I would start to feel relief in about 10-20 minutes . Hope you feel better soon!

I just had nausea. Didn't have pain but just felt I had a sore rib. Was worst getting it out.

So, Question - was your pain constant? Or did you have pain for like 20-30 min and then that's it?  Just curious.

It comes in waves it last 15-20 minutes and then goes away for a while. I had an ultrasound today but won't know what's up until Monday

My pain would come, usually after eating, and last 10-45 minutes. It could be fairly mild or intense... like someone was standing on my sternum while someone else was putting a knife in my back... sometimes I would get chills or nausea sometimes just pain. It was sporadic when I was pregnant, more frequent within a couple months of giving birth and by the time surgery was scheduled I would have an attack after eating dry plain Cheerios!
Surgery was such a relief!

Gallbladder attacks can be different for everyone. Most commonly folks feel right upper quadrant (RUQ) pain that radiates to their shoulder/shoulder blades, often accompanied by nausea and maybe vomiting.

Alternatively, they might have generalized abdominal pain that's not as specific.

The ultrasound will tell you if you have any gallstones, gallbladder inflammation, etc. They should also check your common bile duct, as you could have  passed a stone through the duct. Sometimes the stones get stuck in the duct and cause a blockage.

Good luck! If they didn't tell you, make sure you don't eat or drink for 8-12 hours before your ultrasound.
