Depression

Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. I was wondering about all the cold snowy weather making me depressed too. It is definitely different than NC that's for sure. I did a few months ago buy my vit D from Vitalady the 50k pill because that was the only low blood work I had. I had the insurance company email a list of all the in network therapists & now I'm calling them all asking them if they specialize in food addiction. Yes my son is a sweetheart. He is 11 & is wanting to help me & help himself. He too suffers from depression & has been seeing a therapist for a little over half a year now. It will be good for us both to get up & move. Thanks again for your kind words. I wish you the best in your journey too.

The mental part is definitely the hardest. Getting help sounds like a good idea.

May I ask if your husband is working towards getting healthier, too? It sounds like he acts like this is only your problem when he appears to be overweight, too. Maybe some couples therapy would be helpful.

He has cut back on some of his bad eating habits & switched from regular Mt Dew to Diet Mt Dew. He is supportive but in his own way. He is just blunt & lacks a filter at times & things just come out of his mouth before he thinks about what he is saying. He doesn't mean to hurt me by what he says & he is trying to understand but he doesn't. He can't wrap his head around something he knows nothing of or has experienced. He knows he has a weight problem & when I had my surgery he said he would never have surgery because he likes to eat what he wants to eat when he wants to eat it. Recently the past month or so he has been asking me if I think he could do the surgery. He thinks he would have no problem. He has no problem saying no to this or that, he just doesn't want to right now. He said we would have to get me all good before he even considers having surgery himself. He did like the Family Wellness Center we toured & signed up for on Monday so maybe he will go. I know he loves to swim so that might get him there & he said he would walk with me, although I will believe it when it happens. He is a good guy, he just has a very different way of thinking.

I did find some support groups in my area for overeaters anonymous. Thank you all for your suggestions & kind words again. It really means a lot.
