I found out my insurance no longer makes you wait 3 or 6 months for a diet plan. I already went to Seminar and sent Coordinator the forms she needed.Including the medical necessity letter and form from my PCP. I go next Thursday to see th e surgeon for my consult. The coordinator said she would set up my nutritionist, lab, and psych appointments. How much longer after that will it take for me to get my surgery date? BCBS requires letter of necessity and BMI of 40 with no morbidities, mine is 46 and I have 2 morbidities. I shouldn't have any problems should I?

i have that insurance and i started process jan 10th went to the seminar had my 23 appointments and they granted my surgery in 7 days my surgery is march 4 it was supposed to be last week but i had to change due to conflicts at work :)

i dont think my nurse sent a letter of medical  necessity  after i had all my visits in she then sent paperwork then i had to have a visit with my primary dr for a history and physical within 30 days of surgery

oops i had 2 with the dietician and 2 with the psychologist then back to the surgeon and got my date they scheduled me before i got the approval cause it normally doesnt take that long they had the ok within 7 days

I went to the seminar last march (first week some time) and I couldn't make one of the nutritionist classes so that put me a month behind because the office didn't have another one until a month later. I had surgery June 4. so had I been able to make that class I could of had it in May. Also my doctor's office was scheduled a month out when my date was set.
