Colonoscopy and Chia Seeds questions!

I am four years out from RNY surgery - I lost 208 lbs total and have kept it off YAY!!!  Have not been on here for awhile, but its the first place i come to when I have questions!   I have to get a screening colonoscopy and was wondering if anyone that has had RNY has had one and if the prep is any different for us?  I'm a little scared of the prep!

Also, all my coworkers are raving about the energy that chia seeds gives them and I want to try them.  Thinking that 4 years out it oughta be okay (as long as I soak them first!) - but just wanted to check and see if anyone has any information on this?

cant help you with the colonoscopy as i am due for one too, but have no desire to get it done....but for the chia seeds.. i have added them in my baking to replace the oil..some say you can replace them for eggs in your baking...they are great fiber..they will make you GO thats for sure...i have never just ate them by the spoon full or anything like that...i made some muffins and they are like poppy seeds crunch wise and feel in the mouth wise...as far as energy...i have no much now even before i tried them so would not have noticed that..but i was looking for the fiber to GO.. as i have lots of problems with that..

have a great blessed day

I had mine when I was 5 years out from RNY - did MoviPrep - mixed with crystal lite to make it palateable.   No problems and was complimented on how nice and clean I was!

I'm allergic to eggs so use chia eggs in baking from time to time. Love putting them in shakes. Keeps me full longer, at least in my head they do!!

I just did a colonoscopy. Prep was 4 dulcolax tablets followed by a whole bottle of miralax mixed with low calorie Gatorade. No real issues other than I started drinking a little earlier than they told me to so that I could get done by the time they wanted me to. Cleaned myself out fine.

My colonoscopy experience was the same as jeterway's. Only difference between my prep and "normal" people was using the low cal version of Gatorade.

I put about a tablespoon of chia in my 32oz bottle of water. I don't notice any ill effects from them. They are supposed to have lots of omegas, fiber and they also have protien. So i figured why not? Good luck on your test.
