I know now because I feel full, much like I did pre op.  But right after surgery, the nerves in your stomach haven't healed yet.  You need to measure your food.

I am almost 6 weeks out, and I cannot tell when I am full like most seem to be able to do. I have to measure and weigh everything, and stop when it is gone. My surgeon told me that not everyone gets that feeling of restriction. I am very sad that I did not get it.

measure you food and only eat what is on your plan this early out, you won't be eating much at all. (1-2 oz. at a time). Don't push another bite either, it's not a good feeling.

There was nothing from a hospital dietician for me. My surgeon just told me to focus on hydration for my first week
