When I went last week for my initial consult with surgeon, I weighed 281. At 5 ft 4 inches. He said I need to loose 140 pounds. Wow half of my weight. How long will that take?? I will have my appointments all done March 27th. Then they will submit to Insurance, so I should have surgery by May hopefully. I am wanting to surprise some family I haven't seen in awhile at Christmas this year. Hopeing to atleasy loose 100 by then.

There is no way to say how much you will lose and by when, everyone is different. I am 5'4" and highest weight was 242, I am coming up on 9 months out on the 18th of this month. I met my goal about 5 to 6 weeks ago, roughly 7 to 8 months out. I do NOT sit still, I work out and I work out hard, not everyone does so that factors in too. Just do what they tell you to do and it will happen. One thing I did is if I thought the scale wasn't moving, I would start another exercise or walk an additional amount. Hope that helps a little bit! Good luck to you!

With us all being unique, it's hard to say how long it would take you to reach the fun half my size goal. I had my Rny jan 23 2012, 255lbs, and reached the half my size goal November 12, 2012, so for me, it took 9 and a half months.

You might find this helpful.  :)  I used the inadequate search function on OH "realistic expectations".
