Good idea to stop every hour to walk. Not just for comfort, but the risk of blood clots is high, so you will need to stretch.

I don't know how long after your surgery this will happen but if it is soon after, take a pillow with you to hold in your lap, against your tummy. I did for the ride home from the hospital and the first few car trips out. Definitely helped on bumpy roads

No one can really say if you will be able to or not.  Planning is about all you can do, but plans are just that.  You have no clue with pain and discomfort when it comes to WLS so please, keep this in mind and if you can't go to the meet, what will happen to you???   What IF you are too sick to go????  Pesonally, I think you a pushing the situation.  I know this has been a meet that has been a long time coming and I hope all goes well for you and you can go.  We have NO control over certain situations no matter how well we plan.  My best to you, Jane

I was back at work full time at 7 days out. So it can be done I'm sure. You may be uncomfortable and I'm sure you'll get tired. I came home from work and napped the whole first week.

Take extra time to get there and back so you can get out and walk.

Take pain meds with in case you have pain and just sip sip sip all day.

Good Luck to both of you!

Oh you have quite a conundrum .. Five days is awful soon after your surgery. The meet probably wouldn't be an issue but, the ride there might be pretty uncomfortable. Not to mention, you have no guarantee of when you will be released from the hospital.? Just warn your daughter of the possibility that you might not be able to make it.. But you will do everything in your power to be there. Hugs Mama, I understand you will be in a tough spot.
As far as the liquid situation goes.. Get a thermos and bring ho****er.. Your new pouch may not be willing to accommodate cold beverages.. It took me about two months before I could! Lots of herbal tea also you could add a chicken bullion cube to it if you were so inclined. We are all so different when it comes to recovery, you just never know. Good luck with everything!!
