I am still trying out different protein powders before my surgery. I have been looking for a while now. The protein powder About Time has some pretty good tasting powders so far. I tried the About Time mocha mint tonight and it was amazing. No weird smell or after taste!!! It tasted like those mint m&ms and I love those!!! I was finding it hard to find something I like. Either they were smooth and awful tasting or good taste with the chalky, gritty feel. I don't know about y'all but I can't stand the chalky, gritty feel. I know my taste buds may change after my surgery but I really liked what I tasted tonight. It wasn't too sweet either.

I am trying things out as well. May I ask where did you get this About Time powder? Thank you and best wishes on finding the one you are going to stick with after you get your surgery.

I was going to ask the same thing-where did you get it?  How many grams of protein per serving?

Thank you,

Pam

Don't buy up too much, as your taste can change after surgery! I have a container of chocolate Nectar that a friend LOVED for two months after surgery, but can't stand it now.

I was about to say EXACTLY this! My tastes have definitely changed as far as what protein powders and drinks I can handle post-op than what I was able to take pre-op! I really enjoyed the Isopure RTD's before surgery in the alpine punch and berry. Now I can only stomach the grape. Plus some powders that were somewhat decent before are absolutely horrendous now. Just be warned friend! I'd hate for you to spend a lot of money on something you may not like post-op!

http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/ is where I have been going to get different samples. They have lots of different protein powders that are available to sample at 1.95 per sample. The about time protein has 25 grams of protein with zero carb, zero fat, no artificial sweeteners, and it is whey protein isolate which is suppose to be the best form of whey. It is also lactose free but if you use milk of course that will change that part of it. I bought the samples because I would rather try them out instead of buying the tub and not liking them at all.

I also like the premier protein that is advertised on OH. They sale those at sam's club and costco. I have also found them at my local Food Lion grocery store.

I have also fund that if you have a vanilla flavored protein shake you can add the torani sugar free flavored syrups to them also. I have been doing that also and they are pretty good.

I am a testament to taste changes. Also I have become lactose intolerant since surgery. I did fine on the protein powders before surgery and liked them but now I get nauseated everytime I drink one. I believe I have finally found a powder I can tolerate. Syntrak nectar strawberry. It is lactose free and tastes good. I drank a sample this morning and did not get sick. Yeahhhhhhh!!

I am 15 months post surgery and About Time is the ONLY protein powder that I drink.  It does not have the after taste, and smells etc.  I have tried multiple powders and it is the main protein that I drink.  The Stevia for the sweetner makes a big difference.  I cannot tolerate sucralose, etc.  just makes me ill!
