Period issues are normal, but still run them by your doc on your check ups.

i started my period about 12 hours after surgery and it didn't stop for a week. Then they were regular (PCOS never reg in my life) but very long, heavy and painful. Then they were regular, lasted about a week and were average, about a year out I tried to stop my periods via medical means under my OBGYN direction, and I started getting double periods and the bled for nearly 3 months straight. (Yes, I became freaking sick of that wand ultra sound). You may have to find your new normal.  But you shouldn't be alarmed if you have some weird months, your fat breaking down releases hormones into your body that can cause mood swings and flow issues.
