I am still pre-op, but I was told by the nutritionist at my bariatric center to only allow 30 minutes to eat. When the times up your done eating. ???

My doc says the same.

To OP: Taking an hour to eat is silly. You are eating with the mindset you need to eat all of it, not what you need. At your stage I was eating 3 tbsp in one sitting. Eating a whole egg didnt come until about a month out, and I definitely wouldnt have been able to top it off with cottage cheese!

I was told to eat 3-4 oz of pureed meat & 1 oz of veggies. I just ate dinner & I couldn't finish the 4 oz of meat

"I hate always feeling like this won't work for me and I will fail".  How does one feel like a failure at something that only happened 16 days ago?  Start working on getting a better attitude about your new journey.  I was butt sick the first month from surgery, gall bladder out and physical disabilities and 59 years old and on a walker and never felt like a failure, and that's the truth.  Is this hard? Yes, nothing worthwhile in life is easy. You have to want it, work it, live it for the rest of your life so put on your big girl panties and you can do this!!!!  Best of luck, Jane

You got that right Jane!! I am in the same program and have been her mentor through this process. She has all the info. and tools she needs AND my phone number if she needs to talk. NOW what she needs is to follow the program and trust it will work.
