First Vacation Post Op
I have been on vacation this week in Charleston, SC. For those that don't know Charleston the historic section downtown is pretty much a walking destination. I have walked all over the place. While I could have done it last year, I would have paid a heck of a price with sore ankles, knees, and feet. I'm so happy with how I feel right now and I know it's only going to get better. The toughest part of this vacation was trying to find places to eat. Charleston has many highly touted restaurants. I have been very careful about what I have eaten as I didn't try anything that hasn't been tested at home. Also I didn't want to order a $50-$100 meal and eat a 1/4 of the food. While annoying, it is an acceptable trade off for how I feel right now!
For those considering surgery, waiting to have it, or going through the tougher post op periods, there are better days ahead. Keep pushing forward.

Take a carriage tour to get your bearings. Walk over to waterfront park. Walk or drive down to the battery. Visit the market and shopping district downtown. We did not get to do it this trip, but it was recommended by a friend to take a walking photo tour, a pirate tour, and tour the Yorktown at Patriot's Point. We took a harbor tour that I enjoyed. I would love to tour Fort Sumter.
We went the budget route on food since I could not eat much. I had it recommended to me to try Bocci's Italian and the Noisy Oyster.
I'll be in Myrtle Beach in a few months. Visited there the 1st time last July. We had fun, but that was the vacation that convinced me it was time to do something about my weight. I just wore down so easily that I could not enjoy myself and then I saw the pictures from that trip. Not good. Can't wait to get back.
