frustrated with myself not eating or drinking enought
I also wanted to add that the Bariatric Advantage calcium citrate chews are really yummy! I like the raspberry ones. I take 6 per day since they are only 250 mg. each. So I take 2 three times per day. I feel like I'm having a Starburst when I take one so it's like a treat-lol! The caramel ones come in 500 mg. They are expensive but well worth it!

Any advice given here is backed up by the ASMBS - Google that - we don't pull it out of our ass!
You are giving the OP terrible advice - you are a hand patting enabler, which is the worst type of poster on here! There are instances where someone posts because they genuinely want help and NOT just to get their bad practices validated - I hope this is one of them.
I wish you every tood luck with your health and don't forget to thank your surgeon when you suffer life threatening deficiencies in a couple of years ... at least you'll be able to point your physicians in the right direction when you begin to suffer the debilitating effects because you read here a couple of times what vitamins you SHOULD have been taking so I'll say you're welcome now.
ETA: YOU ARE A NURSE? - please tell me you are not an RN? You should be ashamed of yourself for giving this advice, which you should KNOW you should be able to support (and I KNOW you can't)! I am a midwife and used to have my own practice - I have seen TERRIBLE doctors giving terrible care and information so would never suggest that someone blindly follow an MD's advice that has been proved to be wrong - just wow! Doctors are human beings, not deities, and they often make mistakes, believe me and this vitamin schedule is one of them - and one that can have DEVASTATING health ramifications!

Like you said, though, sometimes doctors suggest vitamins that are really pointless. That's why it pays to do our own research, starting with reading the ASMBS guidelines.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
It isn't just Kelly that knows about vitamins - there are a slew of long term vets (5+ years) who post about vitamins, what we take and why - we even print references! If she were an island, I could understand your being sceptical but there are too many of us on here that give the same recommendations for it to be rubbish!!!!!
You really need to put on your big girl knickers and take responsibility for your own health, clearly your surgeon is clueless on nutrition, and it is YOUR health he's playing with, not his! Your PCP may also be clueless - I have taught mine (and continue to teach her) what I need and why ... She is very respectful of my knowledge and experience which is why she is my PCP. Being passive really is NOT an option!
Having this surgery demands that you take control - it was a huge decision and you should be willing to do the research necessary and follow good practice to maximise your potential weight loss and learn the lifestyle necessary to maintain your health for life ... We can give you recommendations, but it IS your job to decide who knows what and follow what YOU think is right!

Thank you all vets for all the great advice. To the original poster, please, please, inform yourself before deciding to just listen to your doc, no questions asked. These guys have been on here for years and are living proof that they're doing and taking the right things.
