Did you have problems with the liquid diet?
I have been on my liquid diet since Tuesday and everyday I have trouble getting all of my protein in and my fluids and my snack. I know I gotta get used to this but I never really snack as much as I am now. I got heavy by being inactive and then we would eat out.
Nervous about 4/9 I wi**** was here already ;>}
Im scheldued to have my surgery o 4/17 and im on the liquid preop diet right now and it sucks!!! I started on wednesday and im still so hungry! But i have found making a "frappe" fills me up more than a regualr shake. I have a personal blender so i just fill it up with ice, put in a 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of fat free skim milk, one scoop of chocolate protein mix, and some vanilla sugar free syrup, and 1 packet of instant coffee. I blend it and it tastes like a frappe its soooo goooood!! I also make low sodium broth usually for "lunch" or "dinner". Ive also tried some sugar free jello but i didnt like it very much. Umm others have told me to try sugar free popsicles or crystal light! Good Luck!!! We can do this :)
Thanks for your frappe recipe I will have to try it. I need to get some vanilla sugar free syrup. If it was chocolate syrup my hubby would have it gone. Good Luck to you!! Yes we can do this we will do it!!
I had a problem with my pre-op liquid diet - my surgeon had me do it for 4 days - it was so hard. I locked myself in my bedroom - literally. When I did come out I cleaned my house to keep my mind off of it and my house was the cleanest it ever was - lol.
My liquid diet after surgery was not so bad, but it was hard to get in what they wanted you to - I was never able.
Hang in there - it will get better!!

I really don't find it hard its just that I am not hungry to get 3 meals and 3 snacks in on one day. I keep trying. Glad to see post op liquid what be so hard.
I didn't have trouble with mine, thankfully! I ha 5 shakes a day but it was only for 1 week. I did chew gum so I was actually "chewing". I also would have a cup of chicken broth every now and then. It was nice to have something salty after the sweet protein shakes. The post-op liquid phase are even easier because you really aren't hungry.
I thought it would be agony (being on liquids) but I was pleasantly surprised. I think enjoyed taking a break from being the chef of the house-lol!
OK I'm not the only one not having trouble. I keep forgetting the broth. Maybe I'll have it tomorrow and pretend its coffee. I am not really hungry now so I can see how I won't be hungry after surgery
