I am 5 weeks post op and just went for an upper GI which was normal. Saw my surgeon today and now because i am still have belly pain and heartburn plus pain when drinking she is sending me for a endoscopy and i started Carafate today an anti-ulcer medicine.. i think she is thinking gastritis or an ulcer. I told her sometimes i drin****il it does hurt because i am dehydrated and don't want to end up on IV fluids but she told me not to do that. Sooo who knows maybe we will get down to something here. Weird thing is food doesn't seem to be a big problem.. some days are better than others though.

Do you get your results the same day?

I had an endoscopy at 3 weeks and 4 weeks post-op as I ended up with pretty serious GI bleeds.  They usually give you two kinds of pain meds just prior to the scope.  They call it a "twilight sleep" but I seriously don't remember a thing!  Right after the first one, in fact, I remember having the best two hour nap ever!  I got my results immediately as I was in the ICU.  The GI doc will be able to interpret the images right then, but not sure if they need to go to your Dr. first before you get answers.  Good luck!

My GI doctor told me what she saw when I woke up and gave me pictures to share with my surgeon.  This was pre-op.

Good luck!
