Just.....uhg
I'm heartbroken tonight. I had my preop yesterday for my surgery on 4/22. Passed with flying colors. Surgeon was even impressed I went beyond her surgery weight goal. Labs came back today and the anesthesiologist says my A1c is too high for him to be comfortable to do the surgery. So it's a no go. They are rescheduling me for July to give me time to improve my A1c. I know it's not the end of surgery, and I'll get over it and do what I have to do to get my sugars more in check but just for tonight I feel like I want to crawl into a hole. I was mentally and physically prepared, got the time off work approved and have everything all lined out as far as what I would need for after surgery. Now I have to wait another 3 months. So bummed. Rant over. Thank you.

I TOTALLY know how you feel. I was all scheduled with my surgery date for October 2011 and right at the last minute my insurance denied me. They made me then do another 3 months of nutritional counseling before they would approve me. I ended up having my surgery in January 2012.
I had the worst depression for a couple weeks. The only thing I could relate to how I felt was if I was a child waking up on Christmas morning and not seeing any presents under the tree.
Lucky for me I kept bust with the holidays and it seemed to go by faster than I thought and now here I am over a year post op and down 105 lbs.
Yes it is a bummer, BUT the time will go by quickly and the most important thing for you is to get those numbers down so you can have a complication free surgery.

Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement. It's nice to hear from someone who knows what I'm feeling! And I agree.....it's like a kid on Christmas morning with no presents. I'm going to try to keep busy, too, and keep myself from "falling off the wagon."

If I could do it - you can too. I did however fall off the wagon for a week or so due to the depression and then bucked up and kept my eye on the prize.
