I was reading my booklet that I got after I had my surgery, it says after 2 weeks I can go on to eating cream of wheat, cream of rice, and strained oatmeal. One stupid question, how in the world do you strain oatmeal??? I know this sounds stupid but yeah.  I am sorry I am posting so much.

My doctor told me to stay away from oatmeal.  He was fine with cream of wheat but I believe the concern is oatmeal will continue to expand in your new tummy.

I'm allowed thin oatmeal, no straining. I add extra water & some Lactaid to the oatmeal, & I cook it to death so it is extremely soft. Not sure what the point of straining is.
