13 days post op
I am 17 days post op and my instructions are not to exceed 1/2 at any one meal. Breakfast plan calls for 2 oz apple juice and 2 oz cream of wheat.. Many meals I do not finish, but I try my best. Your meals should be eaten slowly, taking 30 minutes or more to finish. It's great that you get your vitamins in, concentrate on your protein and water. You are doing great!

Not all surgeon's plan call for taking any amount of time to eat your food. Mine and many others don't. Nor do they all require drinking 30 minutes before and 30 minutes or an 60 minutes afterwards. They were finding patients having to wait a total of an hour and a half without liquid were getting dehydrated. I can drink right up until I eat and wait 20 minutes to drink. But as always patients should follow their surgeon's protocol. Jane
Many doctors don't want you going over 30 minutes as it allows the pouch to start emptying, getting more in.
Hopefully we all chose a doctor not just for their cutting skills, but also because their plan makes sense and has a proven track record.
I encourage everyone to adhere to their doctors plan.
I ate what I could and stopped when I felt satisfied. I've always started my day with a shale to get in that first 23g of protein. And went from there with a goal of 60 which I didn't always reach until the end of my second month.
Focus on getting in your water and as much protein as you can from food. I
found that early out I only had room for protein amd didn't take up valuable space with other food.
If you need to and have room add a shake if your plan allows. Early out on my journey one vet who doesn't use shakes said her doc said 30g by 30 days, 60g by 60 days, and 90g by 90 days so I realized it wouldn't kill me if I was under. I just stuck to my docs plan and got in what I had room for.
You're doing well just keep working on it!
I was not allowed to eat until day 22. At day 22, I had the same experience. I was given 1/4 cup as a guideline, but could not eat that much until about week 5 or 6.
