Mashed Potatoes, Eggs, Eggs, Mashed Potatoes.......
I have been put on the soft foods on Friday, And I am tired of eating eggs, mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes, eggs...... What else can I add to the soft foods?? I am getting tired of eating these two foods..... Eggs make me very gassy. Mashed Potatoes are good, but they lack flavor of milk and butter. (can not find fat free butter or fat free cheese to add in it.) Can I eat crackers? There soft right??
Fat free butter and fat free cheese do not exist - any dairy that is fat free is an imposter!!! Why fat free anyway?
What about cottage cheese, greek yoghurt, ricotta cheese, refried beans? All contain waay more protein than potatoes!!! Check out BariatricFoodie and TheWorldAccordingToEggface for recipe help.

Are you kidding, not only does fat free cheese exist it is less calories and has more protein then in its full fat variation. Everyone needs to reduce calories to lose and maintain weight, and fat free cheese is a perfect alternative to full fat cheese. Please don't give out misinformation to new members. Everyone needs to shave off calories and reduce fats, the American diet is full of carbs and fats, no worries about getting enough of these, it's reducing these that everyone needs. Diets high in fats are unhealthy.
I think what you forget Heidi is that I am NOT American and thus my tastes and diet is predominantly European! Cheese here is nothing like we eat - and I would no sooner eat fat free cheese or butter "product" than fly!
I adhere to a 3 meal and 3 snack a day regime - I eat predominantly unprocessed food and rarely eat carbs that are NOT dairy or vegetables. I also don't and never have, drank with my meals. I, too, am maintaining my weight at 9 years out, so NO, I AM NOT KIDDING! In the amount I eat and the type of food I eat, I adhere to probably the most healthy diet anyone could! My LDL and HDL are perfect (because I exercise regularly)
To me, your choice of fasting each day until dinner, eating raws lemons all day and no exercise seem strange (and distinctly unhealthy), but I don't think I have ever posted anything other than positive to you. I applaud you for maintaining your weight in a way that you can choose and sustain but don't rubbish other people for their choices.
There is nothing wrong with people eating good, unprocessed (fat free cheese is NOT unprocessed) food. I challenge anyone to find fat free cheese that is not full of crap!!!

My life has been skim ricotta cheese, 1% cottage cheese, the occasional glass of skim milk, and maybe half a banana a day because I like the idea of having a functional brain (brains use carbs as their primary fuel source). I also had a scrambled egg once, should do it more often, just haven't. For when plain ricotta cheese starts getting old, I ordered a bunch of sugar free syrups to flavor it with from davincigormet online. Rather than try the cracker route, try to focus more on protein, it will serve you better.
You need to contact your surgeon AGAIN and go over your eating plan of what you can and cannot eat. You are lacking major in information for post-op eating. Did she/he tell you all you could eat were mashed potatoes and eggs? Even though we may answer what we can eat, doesn't mean YOU can eat it unless YOUR surgeon gives you the ok. Jane
