"Oh Yeah!" brand shakes taste awesome and are lactose-free. You can find them at GNC and the Vitamin Shoppe. I don't know about other stores since I just started drinking them.

The only one I can tolerate is the Premier chocolate it has 30g protein and has been my saving grace.  I'm six months post op and would not meet my protein requirements of 80g if not for it.  I spent $100 of dollars ordering everything I could get my hands on taking every ones suggestions but nothing sat well with me.  I take the premier and mix with 1 cup of milk and crushed ice and will nurse it over a few hours while at work and it gets me through and ensures I reach my daily goal.  Good luck just gotta find what works for you.

It seems to be personal taste for everyone but I really like Syntrax Nectar....they've got A LOT of flavors.  I also really liked Unjury...I hated pretty much every other one and I tried over 12 brands...a lot of the companies will send you samples.  Just get on their websites and or write them.

I wasted a lot of money on trying different protein drinks...ugh...hate the ready-to-drinks (RTDs) but my sister loves them so there's a market for them...they taste like plastic bottle to me...anyol'whoooo...here's my advice...

mybariatricpantry.com offers the only real sample packages that I've found for different lines...try them...they're relatively inexpensive and you get a great variety of different flavors. I spent a ton on protein I couldn't tolerate before I found the sample packs but finally settled on "Syntrax Matrix Mint Cookie" (tastes like Girl Scout Thin Mints) which is what I drink now every day twice a day. I'm tempted to try and find another flavor now that it's been nearly a year but the truth is...it ain't broke and I'm too chicken to get out there again. Syntrax also has the "Nectar" line which I've heard great things about. If you like coffee try the "Click" sample pack.

I have a Health Savings Account that pays for my protein and vitamins because my surgeon wrote me a prescription for them. Also, the cheapest place I've found to purchase my protein is netrition.com

Good luck...you're not alone
