Its been a few days now of not urinating enough. I called my surgeon answering service on Saturday and he said he wasnt worried unless I am dizzy or lightheaded. At the time I wasnt feeling any of them. Well the past few minutes I have been feeling a bit lightheaded. I have upped my water and other fluids intake but I am not peeing enough. I can go trillion of hours without peeing.  I called my doctors office again and the nurse said she will talk to the doctor and call me back. havent heard a word back and now its after hours..... Idk what to do......

How much are you urinating? How much is not enough? Do you know how much fluid you are getting in a day? If you are that concerned i would go to the ER but honestly if the surgeons office has yet to call you back they may not think it's an emergency. I would probably wait at least a few more hours for them to call you back before you go to the ER unless you feel like you are going to pass out or something. Can you call back? Maybe they can get you an appt tomorrow or at an urgent care center.

Why are you SO convinced you have to pee 1233250 times a day to be 'normal'?  You don't! Your body is fine and if you're feeling lightheaded it could be because the doctor planted that information in your head.  Your body is using the fluids, that is why you're not peeing a lot.  I'm sorry but you have come on here so many times and asked the same questions.  You have it in your brain that you want to go to the hospital, so if you think you're dehydrated, go to the ER and sit there for six hours.

No one here can help you beyond telling you that you probably are just fine and are overreacting to this.  I'm sure if your doctor was really concerned they would've made it a priority to call you back.

^^^^  This!

I have typed two or three responses to this and deleted them because I just can't ...   Just wanted you to know that others feel the same way ...

To Momma1991

I couldn't tell you how much I pee in a day because I don't measure it - some days I do it a lot and others I will do it a couple of times - as the doctor says, if you have no other symptoms then most likely NOTHING is wrong!!!!

A healthy body only eliminates about 30 ml of excess fluid in an hour, if that.  30 ml's is like 2 tablespoons - not very much.  I don't pee nearly as much as I used to before surgery and I drink a heck of alot more water these days.  I think the only time I peed as much as I use too was the day I accidentally drank caffeinated green tea instead of decaf all afternoon.  A good indicator, I think, of how caffeine can dehydrate us.  Anyhooo....sounds like you are fine.  Just make sure you get the 64 oz's or more that you need and all should be well.

In all honesty here everyone, could we possibly have someone on here who is trolling?? I have a suspicion that there is something more going on here.    Jane

Quite honestly, I don't think she's a troll but looking through her posting history, I do think she is a young girl who is totally unprepared for this surgery ...

I agree, as a nurse I have seen people get fixated on one tiny detail and no matter what you tell them, how many times, how many different ways that they are fine, it does nothing to soothe them. I had one patient that had gone through a couple of docs, several nurses, nurse techs, and finally a dietary aide with questions about her problem. Nothing we could do put her at ease. Usually there is underlying anxiety and depression that  needs to be dealt with.

I read back also but I can't for the life of me figure this one out.  There is never a response once she posts.  I do agree with all of you that she is fixated or young and unprepared.  I just don't know.  I just don't know.
