I have been calling my doctors office for severe nausea. I stay nausous all day long. Eating my soft foods or drinking water or some type of diet drink I am still nausous. I even take the strongest dose of anti-nausea  my doctor is allowed to give me. I am 3 weeks out and I thought this nausea thing would be over by now.  But when I called AGAIN today the lady at the desk got very snooty on the phone and kinda yelled at me, saying " Well I don't know what to tell you, I have told you what there is to do,  and there is not much I can do to help assist you anymore"  That's the thing I have done what she told me to do which was to take my anti-nausea medicine,  go back to liquid diet. (even the liquid diet make me feel sick to my stomach.) I am tired of sitting next to a trash bag all day long.  I dont know what else to do. My doctors office is getting tired of hearing from me, I have tired everything I have been told to do. Is getting to the point where I have stopped eating because its not doing me any justice.... I sit on the couch all day and sip and sip and sip and sometimes take bigger sips......

In my opinion your doctors office should never ever make you feel that way. Make an appoinment and go in or go directly to the hospital. If I was spoken to like that ever I would be marching myself right on in there.

Too bad if she's tired of taking  your calls.  That's her job.

Call back and make an appointment to see your surgeon.  Let him know how his staff has been speaking to patients that call with problems.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

This isn't right.  i know how awful you are feeling having had some of that myself.  I am with the others.  You need to call and make an appt with your surgeon.  Trust your instincts.  If it feels wrong then there is something going on.  At the very least your surgeon should be able to rule anything out and put your mind at ease.

Good luck and make that appt.  :)

Um, how much are you paying this doctor for your care? They need to come through and take care of you. Geesh!

Your DEFINITELY need to make an appointment and go in to see and speak DIRECTLY to your surgeon. They say in the preop class if your nausea and/or vomiting doesnt go away to always call. That is her job, to ASSIST you. I'm sorry that kind of ticks my button you being treated that way. definitely talk to him and let him know what his staff is up to. I am still at pre op and I called quite a bit to speak to the nurse that's been handling my case, and usually I call her number directly, but sometimes I am not home and dont have her direct number with me, so I will call and ask to be transferred to her, and the lady at the desk got annoyed with me one day saying "she has a direct line, call her there!" I said, oh noo, your only job is to answer the phone, if I want you to transfer me, you will transfer me without complaining, I am spending a lot of money there. I told the nurse (whos the sweetest woman in the world) and the lady at the front desk always smiles and is polite to me every time.

Isnt that a symptom of a possible sticher or what ever they call it plus a lady was telling me at my drs. Office that she was like that and it turned out to be just that so i hope that helps and dont allow anyone to speak like that to you. You deserve better treatment from her your surgeon and anyone else in your life. Take care.

It's also possible if you are vomiting a lot that you are dehydrated. A symptom of dehydration is nausea. Please see your doctor as soon as possible.
