I am 3 weeks out and still am regretting the surgery.  I am depressed and miserable. I am tired of feeling like **** I am tired of looking like **** I am tired of feeling like I have to throw up all day long.  I even take my anti nausea medicine  the highest dose my doctor can give me. I eat I become nauseous.  I drink I become nauseous. And it doesnt help that I have IBS on top of it. People say it will get easier, but I am starting not to believe it.  I am tired of sitting next to a trash bag hoping not to throw up. I am just very upset.

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I've been regretting my surgery a little too, but I try to focus on how much better I'm going to look once I give myself time. Remember that what you're feeling will pass, especially when you see the pounds fly off! Make sure to exercise when you can, the endorphins will make you feel better.

This is the toughest time and I really wondered if I could get through it. At four weeks things began to change. I still needed Zofran from time to time but I was digesting better and feeling a little more energy.  Hang in there   Keep us posted!

I'm so sorry you're going through all this.  Have you met with your surgeon to discuss these problems?  I hope things improve for you soon.

Are you on anything for for acid?  If not, call your surgeon and ask for something.  You can also by Prilosec or Zantac (other other brands) over-the counter.  Some surgeons do give meds after surgery others don't.  This will help tremendously if you have too much acid.

Also, know this is temporary and hopefully you are "almost there".  As for feeling tired, mine lasted for 8 weeks (after feeling amazing the first two weeks) and then it was smooth sailing.  You may want to try sipping on hot peppermint tea or ginger which both work well for nausea.

I didn't start feeling better till 6 weeks out. My pouch was very angry with what I did to it, I was constantly nauseated. My pouch nauseated even with water!!!! Then at 7 weeks it(my pouch) began to forgive me and slowly started co-operating. Now I am 13 weeks out lost 63 lbs and my pouch and I are friends again. Every once in a while I feed it too much or eat too fast but it reminds me gently with a little pain to get back on the program. Thank you pouch.
