Victories, A Happy Post

So Tomorrow I will be 8 Weeks post op. And I have to say I am loving my new life. I admit in the beginning I had my doubts and regrets, but just as everyone said, that would be the hardest time. At my second post op visit my Dr. told me I HAD to start getting in the gym and doing more exercise. I HATED the gym...it was my arch nemesis. So as much as I hated to, I got in the gym, I started doing 40 minutes of Cardio (20 on the bike, and 20 on the treadmill) and I alternate days of Arms, and Abs. Its been 9 days now that I have exercised, one of those days I went for a 2 mile walk with my puppy and husband, the rest have been in the gym, or at the pool doing laps. I never thought id say it, but i ENJOY going now. I love seeing the results, i love pushing myself, I love how good I feel once I finish. I got some of those decorative pebbles at Micheals and a pretty vase, and every time I exercise I put a pebble in the vase. I think once I fill it up ill go have a spa day. Today was a great workout, for the first time I Ran for 2 minutes at 5.0 mph. And the rest of the 18 minutes I walked at 3.5 Mph. when i started working out. I could only walk at 2.0 to 2.5 mph. I literally cried tears of joy on that treadmill today. On the bike, I finished 5 miles in 19:12, when I started I could barely finish 4 in 20. I also added another set to my arms workout. So even though its a cloudy cold gloomy day. Suns still shining in my book :)  This is only the beginning and im SO excited to see what lies ahead.

Thanks so much for posting this post. I am just now starting to kick the excercise in gear and feel the same way. I can't wait to get to where you are. Still walking- not attempted to run yet. My summer goal is to run a 5 k. I am walking about 4.5 miles in 1 hr.10 mins. Keep it up- you rock!
