Bounce-back/weight regain after 2 year mark...
I was at about 170 lbs. when my malabsorption stopped. It was a decent weight, but not where I wanted to be. Like others have mentioned, you have to reevaluate your diet and exercise every so often. For me, a 1200-1400 calorie / day diet works in conjunction with daily exercise. Usually that's 90 minutes of ashtanga yoga and a few weightlifting or bodyweight circuits depending on the day. It means hauling my butt out of bed at 4:45 am, but I'd rather be able to relax after work than sleep late.
I'm now at 138 lbs and feel very comfortable with maintaining that weight, but it definitely took time to understand the amount of fuel and exercise my body needed. Be patient with yourself, and remember to take it one day at a time. If you want to know more about the specific steps I took when I experienced bounceback several years ago, there's a link in my signature line to a blog entry I wrote about it.
Best wishes to you!

I too am hitting my two year mark. I was told that I would regrain 10% of what I lost. SO. . .I am trying so hard to drop down an extra 10 pounds in case this is true. But, its not happening. I have increased my protein shakes and still no weight lose. I have lost 96 pds and made my goal of 115. I just want to be on the safe side. I have a real hard time with liquids. I stay dehydrated. Working on it. I'm with you girl, feel your fear.
I echo what others have said about eat less/move more. Maintaining your desired weight is a life long commitment. As we age, we burn fewer calories. It isn't a huge amount, but it is a natural phenomenon. This is exactly why I weigh myself every day and take action if I am up 2 (maybe 3) pounds. It is so much easier to adjust when I am up a little than it would be at 10 or 15 pounds. I put to much into this whole new lifestyle to start on the slippery slope of weight gain ever again!!
Good luck, you CAN do it :)

Hi I am 2 1/2 years Post Op. Like others have said, it is now a matter of intake/exercise. I have been food logging since surgery. I am down from 350 to 196. I have fluctuated, but by being accountable for the foods I eat, good; bad; and UGLY and EXERCISING have been able to maintain. In terms of exercise, I could barely walk now I run, bike and swim.
It is a marathon we are on, not a sprint.....Good Luck!
