Hey Laura, glad to hear you're doing a little better today. I'm a little worried about you still being on narcotics 10 weeks out. They're extremely addictive and habit forming. I'm not saying you don't need them but maybe you should discuss alternatives with your doctor at this point. It's definitely not great for the BM issue.

Totally agree! No way on earth would I be on them that long! I was in a horrific accident as a child, fell nearly 50 feet tumbling down a cliff and broke over 30 bones in my body and wasn't on pain killers for that long! I would look into some accupunture or other alternatives.

Ty i am it could explain a lot of why it seems i've had constipation issues since surgery well probably because i started the percocets after surgery like literally the next day... i didn't have this problem before the percocets or surgery.

Yes i do realize they are extremely habit forming both times they got re prescribed to me i did not ask for them. I am in a lot of pain though still my leg anyway.... the pain from lack of bm has seemed to have gotten better much better since yesterday. I don't have anymore anyway and don't plan to go on them again. The nurse said she will talk to my doctor about an alternative to the pain i am in with my leg PT and even maybe shots or something to help the pain depending upon what is wrong. Trust me the pain i experienced last night SOOO not worth it with the percocets. Thanks for being concerned though i am not dependent upon them though it's just not worth it to me i only took them for pain now i just need to find another option that DOESN'T cause constipation. I am looking at switching around my vitamins too and more fluids.

I take colace daily... That with fluids and exercise is enough. I tried to stop taking it, that wasn't a good plan. I got so desperate I tried An enema at home. As gross as the thought was, the process was way better than waiting for a laxative to work like I had in the past.

All TMI, but important to know before it's too late, so glad we're helping others
