I dislike eating anymore

I hate the fact I have to eat slow, chew well. Stop. Wait. Then continue to eat. Then do it all over again. Buy that time I have lost my interest to even finish 2-3 ounces of food. The food goes cold. Then it tastes nasty when it goes cold.  And then it tastes even nastier because then you have to re-heat it and then it gets hard.  Then if I eat to fast while its still hot then I pay for it by not feeling good and throwing up. It's like a lose lose situation..... I try not to eat as much because I am tired of doing this routine....  Anyone else out here getting tired of eating??

I don't know if it will help you or not but do what we do in restaurants. Get a heavy plate and stick it in the over or the microwave for 5 min or so before you get ready to plate up your meal, that way you are putting hot food on a hot plate. The heat from the plate will keep your food at least warm until you can finish eating.

Great idea Melissa. I'm going to try this.

Another thing to do is to get one of those little baby warming plates.  There are electric ones and ones you just fill with ho****er.

But the microwaving of the plate is the cheapest, easiest solution!  I did that for the first few weeks.

hang in there... it gets better and better all the time!

How long are you taking to eat?   I have always given myself a 15 minute window to eat (except when eating out) -  I certainly woudl NOT be reheating food during a meal ...

I won't even reheat left overs as nuking them makes them dry and guarantees foamies for me. But I've never ate so slow that my food was cold and need reheated either.

I feel your pain. Literally. I've vomited dinner 3 times the past week. On the plus side, I now literally just eat to live rather than living to eat. Sure helps with weight loss. Although I know I am slow to heal internally due to multiple sclerosis, I wonder if I will ever be able to tolerate solid food. I find that if I only put one ounce of food on my plate at a time it helps to prevent cold food. Last nights mini meat loafs I shut the oven off, covered the pan with foil & left the pan in the warm oven while I worked on the first ounce.

Unfortunately for me, I still LOVE food. I know what to avoid because I do dump, but eating is NOT a problem for me except that I still have the PROBLEM  of liking it FAR TOO MUCH. The only thing that genuinely helps is finding anything that totally engages my mind. Do that and I can actually forget to eat.

Your sense of taste depends greatly on your sense of smell.  If you genuinely have no appreciation of food talk it over with your doctor or ear/nose/throat Doctor.  I almost wish I had your problem though.

I have all my teeth save one and I have never ever had a problem chewing my food enough to make the pouch happy. Could be also I am a human garbage disposal. It makes no never mind to me if the pizza is fresh out of the oven or day old in the fridge. I can eat it stone cold and still enjoy it. (NOTE: I almost never eat pizza post op, I know it's a horrible choice) But if there was nothing else left to eat, pizza would give me no issues eating it at all.

I was on the SuperSize Vs Super Skinny tv show in the UK, I was the example "BAD/Ugly American". Since the show aired I am now considerably lighter than my British counterpart.  I bring this up because I can almost imagine you and I on a TV show, those that had WLS and still love food and those that now hate it. LOL

Hope I at least made you smile. :-)

Have a great day!!! Enjoy life!!!
