Iron INFUSION vs Iron TRANSFUSION
I'm a little confused on the difference. I'm doing some Googling this morning but I've seen others mention transfusions more often lately and I don't understand why a transfusion would be the heme or surgeon (whoever is recommending it) would discuss transfusion instead of an infusion of iron.
Nurses, anyone can you share the difference....are they synoposis? One article I read said transfusions are used to removed red blood cells when the body has too many. Other info uses the words as one and the same.
I know what a Blood Transfusion is just wondering on iron transfusion vs. iron infusion.

This is the best article I can find with quick searching stating that a transfusion is Whole Blood backed with red blood cells; not iron (liquid) infused through an IV.
