Hi, I'm on day 11 of liquid diet and have cheated a few times. I have had a few lettuce wraps with mustard. I have been so hungry i can't sleep. I'm worried i won't lose at least 10 lbs before surgery. Although I'm considered a light weight i have 75 lbs to lose. My BMI was over 40. I've only lost 5 lbs in 10 days! I hope i can lose another 4 before my surgery on the 19 th. This has been so hard for me.  I've been in tears. I hope the weeks post op will be better with the hunger being gone i hope.

During post op you will not be hungry, so in that aspect it will be easier.  Make a promise to yourself to stick to the diet for the next few days - you can get through it.  Remember this is temporary but critical for your long term goal!  Good luck!!

Hi,

I have made a promise to myself already and I will work hard to excersise more although i have been busy packing for our move in Aug. I am tired allot. I have 75lbs to lose and I know that every effort is important. I find myself feeling so hungry i can't sleep at night. I only get 4 shakes a day 1 broth and two popsicles. I wish i had called the surgeon earlier because i think my calories are too low. around 860. I'll give it my best shot. Thanks for your help. i appreciate it. Lots to learn:{

My saving grace at that sage was frozen 10 calorie sugar free jello.  I liked the strawberry.  It would take me a full 20 minutes or so to eat, and tasted like italian ices:-)

Actually hungry or head hunger? Because I was not hungry on my liquid diet (and I was on it for 22 days!). If I wanted to eat, I drank something or had jello.

You may need to step up your protein and be sure you are staying fully hydrated.

Did you doctor say you had to lose a certain amount before surgery?  Will your doctor still do the surgery if you aren't sticking to the pre op diet?

Five pounds in ten days is a  lot to lose, especially if you aren't sticking to the recommended diet carefully.

No my surgeon didn't say anything like that but i have been yoyo- ing since i started the process. Which is what i have done in the past.  I only have 4 days till my surgery and im hoping since im going to stick to it like glue that i will loose another 4 at least.\

I have lost only 5 in 10 days is that not bad? I hear people lose as much as 20 in 14 days. Is that because they are heavier than I? Ive lost a total 6 since i began my journey 3 months ago.  Thanks you

On my pre-op liquid diet I was getting 850-950 calories a day.  It was indeed rough. :(

For mine, it was required to eat every two hours in order to stave off hunger, which I feel was really helpful.  So even though I was only eating like 100 calories every 2 hours, it was easier to not be hungry since I was eating so often.

My surgeon said i should have 3 meals a day and i could have 4 shakes 1 broth and two popsicles not sure how muih jello i remember she said it had 0 calories. so i guess that means as much as i need?  850-950 cals sounds right. How much did you lose on your preop? and how long was it? Mine is for 14 days and yes it is a doozy i thought the first few days would be hard but the last few are just as hard!! getting some sugar free jello today.I'll try to go for walk everyday although when i excersise i get really hungry.  Alice:)
