Heartburn after Barium Drink

Hey All!

I had my barium testing this past Monday. Since I drank, I noticed that I've had a lot of heartburn and reflux. This has NEVER been a problem before (outside of pregnancy). Has this happened to anyone else?

I had heartburn and reflux pre-op, so it would be hard to pin point it to any  Barium drinks I had.  I was nauseous after surgery, so I can't blame the post op barium drink to that either. The good news for me after RNY is that I have never been bothered by heartburn or reflux again. Since you're still pre-op, you're still normally gutted, so your regular doc should be able to help with these symptoms.

Thanks... I just found it odd that as soon as they gave me that awful drink I started having issues. LOL

I'll probably just take something over the counter.
