I am 6 weeks out and should be having my 6 week check up with surgeon this week, but his office said he's booked up until end of August??? Seriously??? What should I be eating at this point?? Should I start exercising??? I hate waiting until August to move on to the next phase. I have only lost a pound this past 5 days. Should I be slowing down at this point?

Oh dear...that's awful to put you in that spot!

I'd reccomend calling every day to see if there were any cancelations so that you can see him sooner.  Also ask if someone can answer a few basic questions for you in the meantime.

Good luck!  *hugs*

At six to eight weeks out I was starting to eat solid food.  Did they give you a book or some guidelines on what to do?  If you start, do one food at a time so you know what agrees with you.  I would think, if you had no complications that you can start exercising, you should be healed at this point.  And like the other poster said, call the office and insist that they let you talk to someone who can guide you.

Did your surgeon say you should have a six week check up?  If so, I would call the office back and tell them that.  If they say he's booked up, then say you want him to call you back.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

Absolutely!

And I would be a little perturbed that they did not schedule the 6 week follow up at your first post-op visit.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
