Hang in there just a little longer!  I'm not sure of your protocol, but I had surgery on the 19th and am now allowed soft puree, so surely you are close?!??!  Can you have cream soups?  They are a little thicker than brother and may help some.  Praying this passes fast for you!

thanks for responding. I have my two week post op appointment on Wednesday! I can't wait. I have been so worried about not getting enough protein in. Not to mention the water. I will try the creamy soups anything but shakes. I don't crave anything sweet at all probably because the diet is all sweet!! except the broth. I thank you for your kindness and prayers. I need them:)

Hang in there! I was allowed "mush" in the hospital, but of they have you waiting, just hold on! It's truly a head game. My guess is that you are not having real hunger at this point. You just miss food. I know missed some things at that point. I promise it gets better!! Ask if you can have sf jello or sf popcicles. Either gives you just enough texture in you mouth to satisfy.

Try something warm (like broth) with some spice in it. I shook a little smoked ground chipolte powder in my broth and the kick to the taste buds really helped. Also, the creamed soups is a good idea once you're on full liquids. Or just take a regular soup, purée it in a blender, drip it through a strainer then eat. If you mix some protein powder in a little warm liquid and make it into a paste, then you can add that paste to the soup without lumps.

The Unjury chicken soup is warm and savory. Make a paste of it and then whisk in hot (not boiling) water until it is all incorporated.

Have you tried the fruit flavored whey isolate protein drinks? They are still a little sweet, but they're a nice change from "milkshake" type of shakes. I buy Isopure. I've been drinking those since my 2nd week out. I get mine from a place that works hand-in-hand with my doc's office, but I know you can buy them online.
