My surgery was Monday and I came home yesterday. My first thought was "what did I do to myself ?" Today is a little better. I have a lot of pain where my drain pump is. That's not coming out till Tuesday! I can say this thou.... I did not gain any weight,in fact I've lost a pound!!! I don't have any gas (yet), it feels like I worked my stomach muscles to death...lol! Anyways,I just wanted to let you all know how I was doing!!!

Ack, sorry you had to have a drain. I literally don't think I could hand the squick factor from that!

Amazing that you lost a pound! I came home 10 lbs heavier!

WELCOME HOME! :)

Ouch.  Sorry about the drain.  I didn't have one of those.  Congrats on being home, though.  I was so happy to be sleeping in my own bed.  I hope you take comfort from that too!

Very happy to be home!!! I haven't slept in my bed yet. Been sleeping in the recliner my son brought up from downstairs. Just taking it slowly....

Thanks for checking in! I was an emotional roller coaster, in pain and unsure what the future held. After three weeks my confidence came back, albeit slowly. You are off to great success and just haven't realized it fully yet! Hugs!

Well done! I had a drain for 5 days and it is not so bad. The pain on my left side however went away after they took the drain out. Good luck!

Home feels good, getting the drain out will, too. (tip: I put a pillow over my face and took a giant breath inward while two nurses pulled the drain out--not bad at all).   Then comes the first shower, the first poop, and many more firsts to come.  Happy Dance.

Nice to hear about being at home. It is always better when you are at home, cause you can get some nightly rest!yes

Not all that poking, proding, and stuff in the hospital. Both drains were out before going home (stayed from a Tues morn-Thurs evening). I sure know what you mean, though, about the working the stomach muscles to death! Felt like I did a million sit-ups!!

Hope all goes well, and congrats on the weight-loss. I actually gained ( 9 lbs) right after surgery. It took about 4-5 days to get just back at "surgery weight"!

Best wishes!!!
