Today me and my younger daughter went to my sisters cookout... EVERYTHING imaginable hotdogs, cheeseburgers, steak tips, salad, potato salad, mac salad, kiebasa and bbq sauce and EVERY sugar desert possible plus alcohol and soda. It was kind of hard for me i can't drink, no soda and for the 1st time i craved it, no sweets, kiebasa and bbq sauce didn't agree with me before. I stuck to protein steak tips ate 2 good size chunks and did welll just chewed really well. Also had some salad with lite dressing, a few bites of mac salad it had pepperoni and little cheese chunks it it so i concentrated on that and a few tiny bites of potato salad. I felt sooooo overstuffed but everything i did well with... i strayed away from the bread..hotdogs, etc... Last thing i needed was an hour drive home being sick if i ate something that didn't agree with me... it was difficult to get all of my water today too... for dessert later i stuck to mixed fruit salad, strawberries, and i had a few bites of angel food cake upside down pineapple cake made with cool whip and i did okay with that.... just sharing because i was challenged today big time and for the first time i almost felt left out when people were able to eat PLATES at a time with a burger, hot dog, and sides plus desserts. But what made me feel better is her cousin telling me how great i looked last time she saw me i had just started surgery process in Oct last year and i was 100lbs bigger than now. I was able to climb one of those wobbly ladders into the pool in front of people and NOT break it...i was in utter shock and still in the back of my mind envisioned people laughing at me. I walked around in my bathing suit top and shorts for hours in front of people i don't know well with no coverup and felt ok doing that. My sister also made me aware my size 20 jeans were falling off of me and she pulled them up for me i was completely unaware that mean's i can fully do 18's now WOOOHOOOO makes it all so worth it. I officially made it past my first huge outing POST-OP with tons of food and all the satisfying deserts in the world and i stepped away and behaved.. concentrated on protein first and got exercise. Yay me! Hope everyone else had a great 4th!

Good for you!  That's terrific.  I find it's pretty easy to stick to your plan when you're at home, but when you're in a social setting where the main event is food, it can be challenging.  Congratulations on navigating through that--while wearing a swimsuit!  That's got to up the difficulty points.  angry

Same situation for me today. Tons of food! I ended up with 1/2 a burger and a few bites of chicken. I tried beer today as well.

However my family all knows and it wasn't. Big thing like I thought it could be.

I was asked to bring buns for burgers/hotdogs and a drink

Lol I took a gallon of water!

Good for you on defeating the big cookout!  I have yet to face that challenge and GREAT NSV's.  Even though the scale is going down, it's still nice to hear it from people!
