Taking extra calcium no harm right?
I take 4 bariatric fusion vitamins a day. I forget their calcium level per chewable but I recently started taking bariatric advantage calcium chews as well. I take 1 in addition to my fusion. I was thinking of even taking too but the labs so far I have had at 3 months are normal. Can I do 2~day or should I stick to 1 or none??? I bought celebrate vitamins and samples a while ago too I need to use I have additional b12, iron, calcium, multivitamins, etc can I take any of these in addition to the fusion to use them up?
That one extra calcium chew does not get you to the recommended 1500-2000 anyway.
Also, your labs won't show the kind of calcium that we supplement for. That requires a bone density test.
I am pretty sure BF doesn't cover B12, so I think you should be supplementing that already.

When I was early out, I started putting the BA calcium chewable wafers in a candy dish and using them as snack food. I liked orange and chocolate and thought I had the perfect snack. I ended up with above normal parathyroid that was caused by all the extra calcium floating around in my blood and had to stop taking calcium supplements.
If you are taking Bariatric Fusion, you should definitely be taking extra calcium. Four Bariatric Fusion only has 1200 mg calcium, and the ASMBS says we need 1500 to 2000 mg. However, the Bariatric Fusion contains more calcium carbonate than calcium citrate, and we can't absorb the carbonate, so four Baritric Fusion gives you less than 600 mg calcium citrate. Therefore, you should be taking at least 900 to 1400 mg calcium citrate in addition to the four Bariatric Fusion.
Your blood tests don't really tell you if you're getting enough calcium. If you aren't taking enough calcium, or taking enough of a kind we can absorb, you'll leach some out of your bones in order to keep the level in your blood good.
