3 Years Ago Today XPost
It is a Kent Del Rio. I started riding again a few years ago but I wasn't able to ride for a while due to chronic head and neck pain, which was finally resolved at the beginning of the year when I had my teeth extracted. I did buy a bike a few years after my first WLS but I only remember riding it once and realizing how hard it was I never rode it again. It can still be hard going up hills but I can deal with it.
I don't post often anymore because as it is often told I am pretty busy doing things. The first year or so I was unemployed and still recovering and I had a lot more time and more issues that I needed support for. These days I still come by and read every day but I don't have a lot to say. No issues related to WLS at all. I have fewer issues involving eating then ever, even before WLS, because I know what I can eat and what I can't and I am able to stay away from things that cause me problems. The first year I had some experiences with dumping, mostly due to accidental sugar, and some reactive hypoglycemia issues in my second year. Those are mostly gone because I have learned the best way to eat to avoid them. I would have to say that in spite of all the fears I had about never being able to eat normally again I am able to eat normally, it is just a new normal for me.
I also weigh myself daily to stay accountable. In the past, anytime I was gaining weight the first thing I did was stop weighing. That kept me in denial and kept me eating in a way to keep gaining. I've learned from that and I weigh myself daily to avoid denial. So far I haven't had any issues with regain that would cause me to make adjustments in my eating but I am ready and willing to do that if it becomes necessary. All in all I would say I am pretty much a normal person who has had WLS and always has to keep that in mind and maintain the upkeep but beyond that I just go about my business and live my life.
