I think more and more doctors and hospitals are wanting to be paid up front for things because so many people end up not paying their medical bills, or taking a really long time to pay them.  Insisting on payment up front for non-emergency stuff is really the only way they can make sure they get paid.

Of course, if health care didn't cost so ridiculously much, more people might be able to pay their medical bills... but still, no body wants to work for free, including surgeons.

So true Poet_Kelly

I had a to pay my estimated costs for the surgeon and the 250$ co-pay at the hospital. Everything else I paid about 45 days later when insurance processed it all.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Both doctors that i talked to about surgery stated I had to pay before surgery. One said a week before surgery the other said a month.
