Vitamin question for Kelly (or any other vitamin experts!)
I don't think taking four Bariatric Fusion a day for your multi is a good idea, no matter how you take them. The ASMBS says we need 200% of the RDA of most stuff, so you'd need EIGHT Bariatric Fusion to get that.
However, they contain mostly calcium carbonate, which we can't absorb, so you'd still need to take some extra calcium citrate along with them. And I would be a little concerned about the risk of kidney stones from taking that much calcium carbonate.
If you take two at a time, you may have trouble absorbing the iron in them due to the amount of calcium, so you'd need to take iron separately.
Of course, you still need to take B12 in a sublingual, nasal spray, or injection because you don't have the intrinsic factor in your pouch you'd need to absorb the B12 in chewable vitamins.
To me, it seems easier to use a multi like Centrum, where you'd only need two a day, instead of eight Bariatric Fusion.

Yes, I do take extra calcium citrate, B12, and iron. For some reason I can't seem to swallow vitamins right now even if I cut them in half. I have looked for petities but can't find anything smaller. Believe me, though I would rather swallow pills than do the chewables. I'm going to finish the bottle that I have now (just bought a new one) and then maybe I'll try the Centrum again.
In the meantime, since I do take extra iron, chewing two at a time will be okay for the next month or so?
Yeah, two at a time would be fine. But you would need eight a day, total.
ETA: if you dont' want to take so many a day, chewable Centrum or Celebrate or Bariatric Advantage or Building Blocks are all vitamins you'd only need to take two of a day.
