The cardio wants to do a cardio version because I went into a-fib.

The cardio wants me on Xarelto first ...if Dr Kim agrees.

I am 6 days post op RNY.

Yes, I am trying to contact Dr Kim.

Any info that Xarelto damages the pouch?

thank you

I don't know much about Xarelto yet since it is newer and I'm just starting to get patients who are on it. I did find this abstract that may or may not be helpful to you. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23417780. Apparently it is rapidly absorbed by the upper GI tract.

As always, check with your surgeon.

I have a-fib, and I am on Xarelto.  I had been taking it before my RNY.  Surgeon and cardio had me stop it either 24 or 48 hrs before RNY.  Started it again when I got home from the hospital.  I have had no problems whatsoever.
