Hello all, in Nov I will be a year out and I already talked to the nurse about plastic surgery from my docs office and they have gave me the go ahead for plastics. I could get them now if I wanted to she said. But I'm waiting until my one year then doing it.(Which she said would be best) My question is how easy was it to get finical help with the surgery? I have a fair credit rating, but high in debt $25,000 just in school loans. I guess do you guys know how they work with that? I just want to make sure that I have a chance to get help before I get excited. I will call the plastic doc(s) for prices and about the money help as soon as I get the letter from the nurse about the docs around my area that take my insurance. Any input would be great. Oh I am rushing on the surgery more then I wanted to because I lose my insurance in April and it will cover part of my surgery.

Chances are that the only portion that will be covered by your insurance is the panni removal. In conversations that I have had with my PS, he indicated that it is rare that anything else is covered by insurance. Many, many requests for insurance coverage are denied even with proof of rashes - it has to be really bad and that is even an uphill battle. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I have worked with this guy and he has never given me bad info. You might want to come over to the plastic surgery forum here on OH to join the conversation. Some folks take out loans, some borrow from their 401k, some go out of the country.
