Paramount Advantage

I am just starting the WLS process. Has anyone else in Ohio heard that Paramount Advantage does NOT require physician monitored diet? They are a managed care plan option through Medicaid.

Congratulations on taking control of your life and your weight loss journey.

We suggest you research all your options for WLS and OH is the right place for that.  Once you have reviewed your options surgery wise and decided on one then your next step is to find a surgeon.  We can help you with that.

Here are some links that will be helpful in your research.

Did you even read the OP's question?  Because it appears you answer is completely non-responsive.

Hi,

The member indicated they were new and we like to share links to all of our surgery type forums for research. We also provided them with a link to the OH forum as we feel members who live in their area would be able to assist.

Thank you!

I don't have the answer to this, but you might want to post on the insurance board and/or Ohio's board.  Good luck!

I have commercial Paramount, not Paramount Advantage and my understanding is that there is no longer a physician's monitored diet requirement. I pretty much did mine because the doctor required it.

Good luck!

Just wondering what you ever found out?

According to my program's insurance coordinator, paramount doesn't have a physician monitored requirement. But my program requires 3 months. Today is my last one!

In the beginning I called paramount to inquire about this. I got 2 different answers. No diet and a 6 month diet (weigh****chers counts). I guess I will find out when everything gets submitted.

I have Paramount Advantage and I need 6 month medically supervised diet before surgery.  I almost went with Caresourse. Glad I didn't they want 9 months.
