Just wondering if anyone else stalled around this time and if you did for how long? I am around 80lbs from hitting goal weight and I am 28 weeks post-op today. I have not lost any weight now in about 3 weeks. Anything I can do to jump start the loss again or do I just have to wait it out? I'm down almost 64lbs since surgery.

I did not lose a thing my whole sixth month post op.  It seems to be a common time for a stall.

I increased my protein and my calories a bit after a month of not losing and then I started losing again.  But I don't know if that helped or if the stall just would have broken then anyway.

Oh ok so this is a common time then. I have been eating over 100g protein day and at least 1,000 calories but no change so far figured it was another stall.

Is 1k calories in your plan at this point? For me I will be 9 months  before my nutritionist will move me to that much.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Yes 1,000-1200 but if I can not eat exactly 1,000 and I am a little under she said its ok.

My 6 month stall lasted 2 months. It is a rough one.

I havent had surgery yet.

However, I have been stalling all  my life on diets!  :)

Anyway-what I do to "break the stall" is switch up the diet a bit (less carbs...more protein) and change the type of protein I am eating (for example from fish to chicken). I change up the veggies.

I drink more water.

I change my exercise. I lvoe step and elliptical, but if I am stalling (or worse gaining) I will walk on an extreme incline on treadmills for about a week or two. Somedays I walk fast low incline, other days slow (or as fast as I can manage on a steep incline), and walk or jog iwth no incline other other.

You may even want to do a couple days of only protein shakes (If it is doc recommended).

The idea is to shake up the bod so it will let it go and get moving again.

These are the tricks I have learned at weigh****chers.

Oh yes, on the exercise...someday do long amounts of exercise (1.5 horus) the next day maybe only 45.

The idea is to make it so your body cant predict. If it cant predict what you are going to do, it cant "plan" against you.

Just my two cents.

And again, I have not had surgery.

I'm right there with you. Mine has been up 2lbs then right back down 2lbs. It's my very own 2lb dance. I think my body had finally decided it needs to readjust to all of the losing and just chill out a bit. Keep up the good work, the weight will start coming off again
