No counting here early out either. My surgeon stressed eat lran meats and low carb veggies and you'll do fine he didn't even believe in us doing dairy odd concept for sure but I did follow him until about 5 months out I was sick of meat for breakfast so I added eggs, cheese and cottage cheese

that was one thing I didn't agree with but I chose him for his expertise and followed his rules.

My surgeon and nutritionist seem to be pretty strict (if that's the right word) compared to what most of you in this thread are saying. I was definitely one who had to do liquids for a couple weeks after surgery, has to drink protein shakes, and count calories. I can't have carbs or sugars - just protein and veggies.

But so far I don't mind. I figure it's probably good not to tempt myself by eating even a little bit of a cracker or potato. I don't think I'd be able to stop.

One thing my nutritionist said (that I plan on following) is that not everyone dumps after too much sugar or fat, but not to test it - just assume I would and eat that way. For me, I think this is a good plan. If I tell myself eating a Wheat Thin or a piece of sausage will make me miserable, I won't be tempted to eat them.

Someday, when I'm closer to my goal, I'll reevaluate.

Hi ****ro and Cajun

I would be interested to know if your surgeons still have the same prep and post eating plans today,  as both of you are plus 6 years out.......

Most clinics appear to me to have similarities....pre and post....varying in the time frame you are restricted....( 1 week on soft or 2 weeks on soft for example).....

So I wonder if your surgeons still adhere to the prescribed plan you had or if they have modified it with further info, now that WLS is more prevalent...

I haven't seen my surgeon in 2 years (used him for gallbladder removal) but at that time he still had the same plan.
