Lesson Learned, The Hard Way!!!!!!!!!!
The problem with chinese food is that it is often pre-cooked and then just heated when ordered. I still have a problem with chinese food, buffet food or leftovers for this reason.
Also, cruciferous vegetables like broccooi are very hard to digest - especially steamed and the shrimp are very often overcooked making them chewy.
Might I suggest that you try to cook this dish at home - cooking the broccoli for longer and the shrimp for less time? That way you know what is in it and you know that everything is fresh too!!!

I am three weeks out and attempted scrambled eggs. I won't try that anytime soon. I had never experienced that feeling everyone was describing but boy did I suffer. I felt like I was having a heart attack. I followed the surgeon's orders to the letter, no butter, chew chew chew. I guess I will have to chalk this up to one of my unfriendly foods.
Eggs, particularly scrambled, are notorious for giving people trouble. They used to be one of my fav breakfast foods, but I just can't handle them these days. Weirdly, quiche works for me. I guess it's creamier maybe. But scrambled/fried egg**** my stomach like a brick and make me nauseous.
You're not alone. :-)
Like you I couldn't do shrimp at about a month out - I don't even think I tried it until a couple months out and found that the amount of chewing for the shrimp made it unpleasant. I avoided it until recently (Almost 5 months out now) when I made a ****tail sauce with the frozen salad shrimp. They are fully cooked and frozen and defrost when rinsed under cool water. Anyway these little salad shrimp chew quicker and are never over chewy because of overcooking. Try it out when you are a little further along. They are excellent in a lot of different dishes. Good luck!
