So since I'm 6 wks out and can't tolerate nothing but salads I was thinking of having a really good smoothie from the Smoothie King or Planet Smoothie tonight they add No sugar to their smoothies all fresh fruit and veggies with protein powder , is it ok to have a smoothie have any of you had one at 6 wks out !?

Be careful even with no sugar added you are still talking about considerable carbs and sugar and could make you really sick.

I'd take it realllly slow if you decide to do it.... some people get sick from even the natural sugars when it's alot of fruit.

Some of smoothie king's smoothies have over 1000 calories...

Juiced fruit is like drinking a cup of sugar ...   You really need to work on EATING a good protein rich diet!   Fruit and vegetables (in their natural state) can come after you have managed that!

Bad idea. Way too much sugar. Have some protein instead. You do not want to get in the habit of drinking a lot of calories.

At 6 weeks out you shouldn't even know if you can eat salad at this point in time.  Chicken is difficult for a lot of post ops.  You should only be consuming protein at this point.  The only liquid calories you should be drinking is protein shakes, all other liquids should be water and sf drinks.

You can eat a salad but not a protein shake? That just does not compute with me. I was months out before I could eat even a few bites of salad without wanting to hurl.

A smoothie is typically just a sugar filled fruit shake. Why not make a healthy, protein shake that is actually giving you what your body needs and is craving?
