Had my RNY yesterday. Woo Hoo! The pain was pretty bad but now it is better. I LOVE lortab - LOL. I have sipped water, sugar free crystal light and chicken broth - so far so good. I had a Haital hernia that was repaired. I have been up and walking and doing the spirometer and able to urinate.

Probably will go home tomorrow. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers!

Congrats. I am one week post op, the pain goes away, trust me. I thought it wouldn't. Use Biotene for your dry mouth, best thing I had. Good luck

I have to say (TMI) having to wipe after peeing is a bit dicey but I am getting there. Have not had a bowel movement yet but a lot of tooting going on

Awesome--good for you! But why are you not going home today? If all is well, I'd get the heck out of there and sleep in my own bed, personally. My surgeon only keeps you more than a day if you have complications.

HW333--SW 289--GW of 160 5' 11" woman.  I only know the way I know & when you ask for input/advice, you'll get the way I've been successful through my surgeon & nutritionist. Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I think the soc was concerned because the anesthia was still hanging on mid day Friday and I was still pretty woosy getting up to go to the bathroom and walking. Anesthia just knock me out for about 36 hours.

Congrats on the successful surgery. Keep us informed how you are doing once you get home.
