Being a good boy today
I have the turkey in the oven and a can of green beans waiting. That is the entirety of my meal today. I've had one protein shake and a handful of roasted pecans to snack on. I being very rigid on my diet until I see the surgeon on Jan. 14. My A1C was 8.7 and I need to get it below 8 before surgery. Hope I can get him to retest when I see him and it is below 8 so I can schedule surgery. My wife is being a pain in the butt, instead of supporting what I'm doing now she's beating me over the head for what I ate at my parents last weekend. I can see it going to be a long road for me but I am determined to do this for myself! I won't let her discourage me. Hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas.
You can't change what you did or didn't eat last weekend. what you can do is control what you eat today. Stay focused. I hope you get good news on the 14th.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Thanks Kelly, I haven't gone totally wild like some do. She can be super critical at times. I am focused now and plan to stay that way. I am off of nsaids and caffeine now and am going through carb withdrawals as I type. I figure it is better to come off everything before my two week liquid diet than to wait and make things harder then.
Good for you Steve! Just focus on today and the future will take care of itself. You can't change the past. It sounds like you've got yourself in the right frame of mind for this. I hope all goes well and you can schedule your surgery as planned. Hopefully, your wife will be able to see how hard your working for this and get on board and be more supportive. :)
