I tried adding you on myfitnesspal but couldn't get it to work... I am scheduled for surgery in 3 weeks and just started my optifast today.. Would love to have you on my fitnesspal to get a sense of what and how I could be eating 5 weeks post op.

Cool - I just added you, Jessica :)  Re: what to be eating five weeks post-op, that will definitely depend on your doctor's plan.  Some doctor's have people on soft solids three days after surgery, some have liquids and then purees, mine was liquids for two weeks and then soft solids.  Also, I didn't have a three-week Optifast diet - I had a two week diet of greek yogurt, sugar-free jello, and protein shakes - 1,000 calories per day.  But definitely let's link up and you can see what I am eating and ask your nutritionist if it fits your plan.  You will see I have less than 20 g of carbs per day.  Just a personal decision to be no-carb.  :)

What a refreshing post!  At 60, I too sailed through surgery and recovery, although you sailed faster.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
