two years post surgery pain

My surgery was 2 years ago in November. Then one year later I had my gallbladder removed. in the past 2 month I have been experiencing a sharp pain that seems to be righht where my pouch is located. it radiates out to my rib cage on both sides and then moves downward to ward my intestines. It is such intense pain it has dropped me to the ground. it only lasts about 3 minutes.I have now experienced this same problem 5 or 6 times.

Is this something i should be concerned about? Is it my pouch or maybe my heart>  I am a 60 year old  woman that doesnt llike to impose on others.

Why  haven't you gone to a doctor yet?  If it drops you to the ground, I would call 911.  If it's super intense but you can stand and walk, then I'd go directly to the ER.  If you're not in pain right now, I'd call your doc and explain that it's urgent and get an appt TODAY.

I don't mean to sound mean, but if you think it might be your heart, why on earth  haven't you already seen your doctor?

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

It is one thing to have a mild pain. But you had this surgery to live. Not to die of something that could have been prevented. You can always call 911 they don't feel you are imposing. I hope you get to the doctor and feel better.

It can be anything - gas - hernia- real constipation even if you have BM every  day. I had all of above.  I had surgery to fix my problem, and I  adjusted my diet to minimize  gas and gas pain.

1.  We had a family friend of a similar age who didn't like to impose on others. She began having complications on a Friday after surgery, but being very polite and thrifty, did not want to phone and 'bother' her surgeon on a weekend. She didn't want to spend $100 to go to the emergency room, so she thought she'd wait until Monday to call her doctor's office. Over the weekend, she tried some home remedies. Vicky died that Tuesday morning. The autopsy showed that if she had promptly sought help, the problem was easily treatable.

2.  Your pouch and your heart are most likely not exactly where you think they are. Referred pain is common in many problems.

3. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S., more than all forms of cancer combined.  The best chance of surviving a heart attack comes when certain meds are administered within 30 minutes of the onset of any symptoms.  Symptoms of heart attacks in women are often very subtle and often different from those commonly identified with heart attacks in men.  (See the American Heart Association website for more information.)

4. What kind of message are you waiting for from your body? Engraved invitation? Sky writing?  Highway bill board?  Public service message on TV?  An archangel with a trumpet?

Any more questions???????????????????????

Are you thinking you'd rather drop dead than 'impose' and how is seeing a doctor imposing on anyone?

GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR--ASAP!!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago!
