Haha, i love being able to say that a 5k is my SHORT run. I'm slowly working my way up to a 10k. At dinner I try to incorporate a protein and 2 veggies, instead of the typical starch and veggie, I still have to please my husbands non-baby stomach.

One of my absolute favorite things about my weight loss is being able to exercise And obviously being able to say I wear a size 4 :)

Breakfast:Shrimp stir fry left overs

Lunch:Salad with grilled chicken

snack :sugar free jello

Dinner:Meatloaf with veggies I hid in it.

snack:yogurt

exercise:Went out to the wood pile and brought in firewood.

One thing I did realize I was doing was after I ate sugar free jello I went to get another one.Not because I was hungry.I was bored.Stopped myself.

Boredom eating..something most of us on this forum know all too well :)  I love how you hide the veggies in the meatloaf :)  I put veggies in my egg bites.  I haven't started eating veggies with a meal yet because of all the protein I need - meat takes center stage.  Shrimp are so awesome and give me a low calorie high protein high bang for their buck.  I love 'em!  I am excited to have a salad.  A few more months, I believe :)

I'm always a little in awe of what other people eat. I used to love to bake, but I never considered myself a cook. Recipes? Cook a piece of meat, put cheese on it, and you're done. Chili? There's way too many things in there. Cook the hamburger or beans and eat them.

I think in some ways I am lucky. I don't drink any calories, excepting protein shakes when I had them. No coffee, so no 500 calorie starbucks drinks. I don't do any kind of sauce on anything, and that can often be a lot of calories. Salads are yucky, so I don't worry about the 800 calories worth of dressing some people put on theirs.

I am amazed when people can't get their protein in. I am alway at 170 to 200 per day. Many timesI have hit 300, and once, 400. I'm not bragging, because I have my own issues that will get me clobbered by many here. For instance, I usually only eat something green if the cheese has been in the fridge too long, and I don't feel like running to the store. And when I grww up, corn still counted as a vegetable. And since popcorn is just corn prepared differently, I count popcorn as a veggie. Hey, it grows in the ground and has fiber, right? Veggie.

What some people eat is not food. It's what my food eats.

LOL!!!  I love that popcorn is a veggie in your book.  I once dated a man like you, actually.  Meat and cheese.  That was a meal to him.  You must horrify the vegans on here :)

170 - 200 g of protein a day is not something I think I could reach, simply because I have swung from eating a bazillion calories a day to now psychotically tracking every bite of food in MyFitness Pal and making sure I hover around 700.  Maybe once I get to maintenance it would be easier but for now I am always calculating "Hmmm if I have that cheese stick then that's 70 calories but only 5 g of protein so maybe I should make a 2.4 oz package of tuna since it's more protein".  I have to do a lot of juggling to get in 70ish g of protein and keep the calories to where I have decided they should be.  My NUT won't give me a calorie goal, which I hate.  So I just go off of what people here on the site are doing, and at just under 2 months post-op, I feel like a lot of people say they were at 500-800 calories.  Only time will tell how that is going to evolve.  I know my calories will go up, I just want to get more bang for my buck now.

Green cheese is really unadvisable btw.  LOL!

Thanks for the insight and tips into your diet.  Losing 300 lbs is no easy feat.  You must feel incredible.

Green cheese has to be healthy, it's penicillin, right?

I have tracked everything in MFP too, since surgery. I'm really careful about weighing everything. I even weighed the powder in my protein shakes, rather than using the scoop. Those scoops are way off.

My first 8 months I averaged 1,040 calories a day, and I saved calories wherever I could. Hence me failed attempt at turkey bacon. But these days I am at 2,200 to 2,400, so I can eat things I never would have earlier. Like having a sandwich, instead of just a piece of rolled up cold cuts. Every few weeks I get a 3 ounce bag of popchips. Delicious. But before, it would have been 1/3 of my dailey calories, instead of 1/8. But I can eat something different, or "not good," as long as I stay within my daily limit.

I hope I always track and weigh, because so far it is what keeps me on goal.

I hear you!  The only times I was (moderately) successful at weight loss before surgery was when I was vigilant about tracking.  I mean, all of a sudden having pad thai at lunch is like 5/8 of your daily goal!  It keeps you honest, I have found.  I will track everyday.  Interesting about weighing out the scoops of protein powder.  I just assumed a scoop was a scoop.  I don't have them all that often, and for convenience, I tend to have the ready made shakes.  I still have a bunch of powders left and although it pains me to give away $150+ of protein powders, I think I will bring them to my next support group meeting.  I prefer savory food to sweet shakes, though the occasional shake to boost my protein isn't bad.  As a snack - not a meal!  LOL

For what it's worth, I do like turkey bacon.  I just like bacon bacon better :)  Mmmmm bacon...Topher makes a turkey meatloaf wrapped in turkey bacon which is probably nothing short of amazing.

I tried turkey bacon some people love it.I thinks it is gross.I just assume eating the real thing if I want it.But when I make it I measure out a serving for everyone. Before the whole pound of bacon would be gone.So we only eat it once in a while.Pop chips are like crack.I can't have them in the house.I will buy them if I have company and they will be gone after the night is over.I have my daughter hide things that are major triggers.

When I am home by myself I have always have to have stuff that is made for me.I love to cook for other people even before surgery.I did hide veggies in the meatloaf more out of laziness on my part.I don't want to make anything else for dinner.I love making one pot meals.I hate to do dishes.Well my daughter does that's her job.
