Being Accountable

Well, Sunday weigh-day showed a 2lbs weight gain. I don't know if I'm in a stall and just got lucky 1 week and hit 129, or if it is the constant constipation that has me up 2 lbs. I am following my plan, getting my activity in, taking all my vitamins and drinking all my water. Every day for the past 4 days, I drink a glass of Miralax, take 2-3 stool softeners, and for the past 2 days have taken 2 Dulcolax, with little movement. I know, TMI, but I am beside myself trying to figure out why I am so constipated. I see my PCP on Tuesday, so will chat with her about this, also. Anyhoo, I added the 2lbs to my ticker as a visual to keep me honest and accountable.

Ugh I'm sorry! That sounds terrible. Being constipated and gaining weight...I feel for you :( I swear by a natural laxative pill called Senna. Take it at night, and things are moving when you wake up. Let us know what your doc says since I think most of us struggle to have normal BMs lol. Good luck!

I think it's quite possible to have two pounds of poop in there.

Hee Hee. That's what I'm telling myself, and exactly how I feel. Bloated - even my tummy is distended. Going to try to get even more water in till it all passes.

I can't remember now who it was and I'm not sure it was someone that even posts here anymore, but I remember some time ago someone had been posting a lot about serious constipation and then she told me she weighed herself before and after pooping and she lost four pounds, just like that.  Can you imagine how seriously constipated she had to be?

I take Magnesium Citrate when I'm super constipated...it's the only thing that works on an emergency basis. And from what I've heard, if it's been longer than 4 days, it's an emergency situation.

Milk of Magnesia-  I find myself taking about once a week it's a lifesaver for me and usually produces results within a couple to a few hours.

I have issues with constipation as well, despite taking Dulcolax or Sennokot-S, plenty of fiber and at least 10 cups of water daily. Saw my naturopath a few days ago, and he suggested upping my magnesium intake as well as taking some probiotics. It seems to be helping a little, but it's only been a few days, so we'll see...
